ASICS Europe B.V. and Formidastic invite designers from around Europe to create innovative footwear for ASICS design competiton 2007.
Regardless whether it is categorized as sports footwear or casual footwear, we don’t rule out any design as long as the reason why this footwear is necessary in people’s lives is clear enough. There are no particular limitations to the actual volume or economical efficiency of the product, but ASICS will verify the technical aspects. Make the proposed design of the footwear the way you feel it should be presented by ASICS. There is one rule to the design. We at ASICS have ASICS logo stripes as our brand logo. This is the most
important icon for our brand and we would like to see how designers can play with these logo stripes. We don’t care about the size, position or colour of the logo stripes, but please construct the logo stripes into your design as an important element of the total result. The existing brand image of ASICS is not important in this contest. We wish to approach the proposed footwear with an open mind.
A group of former students of the Design Academy Eindhoven are working with Asics to organise a footware design competition with the theme footwear.
The winner of the competition will get his/her winning design produced.
The participating designs will be assessed by a professional jury.

- 10 April - 29 June
Entry of application, submission of the designs - 29 June - 8 July
Preliminary judging and result announcement - 08 July - 22 July
Re-design of the 5 final designs by the contestants - 22 July - 28 July
Final judging -
28 July - 29 July
