IDAsia.org has been approached by the Design Singapore Council in an open dialogue to discuss the possibility of setting up an association to support multi-disciplinary industrial designers in Singapore and potentially in the region. It seems that Industrial Design is currently not represented in Singapore.
This could potentially also become a move for IDAsia.org to be formalized into an association or society, with the blessings of the DSG.
However before that lets discuss on what do you think should be the scope of such an association? Or is there an association even a good idea? What about the activities this association should follow? Perhaps this association should be more of a “frendster”, “myspace†type network?

Finally on a side note, we do know there is the DAS (Designers Association of Singapore), but it seems to have fallen short of many people’s expectations, so discussions on the short falls of the DAS are also welcomed so we can learn from them.
