The IDAsia.org editorial team consists of:
Managing Editor and CEO:
e: Porro [at] idasia.org
IDAsia.org is currently managed by Porro who lurks in either Singapore or Sydney. During the day he is a design manager in a consumer electronics company. At night, he blogs, changes his son’s diaper, dabbles in design-entrepreneurship, practices investing, and swings from building to building righting wrongs.
e: ec [at] idasia.org
EC started off his tertiary education in Electrical Engineering. He soon realized that a land filled with resistors and capacitor was too boring for him and thus decided to migrate to the Kingdom of Design.
To EC, things need not be complexed to be extraordinary or outstanding. He believes design, like life itself, is about striking a balance.
Getting his monthly allowance from being a design researcher and educator in Singapore, EC loves reading and surfing the net to keep himself updated on what is going on around the world. Blogs, to EC, is a place where he gets to share the small little interesting things that he discovers in his daily exploration.
A green designer himself, EC aims to promote the sense of eco-awareness and to invite others to join him being designers for the environment.
e: py [at] idasia.org
Working in deep undercover for one of Asia’s more reputable ID firms, PY’s daily industrial design experiences and observations contributes to her posts. Also consummate traveler, she has undergone many design adventures on various continents. These valuable experiences teaching her precious skills in jungle designer survival, an appreciation towards the unique values of Asian design and how to
kill reject a man in 101 ways.
Other than industrial design, she also enjoys dabbling in other kinds of design related activities such as writing for Dutch design blog Studio 469 and churning out groovy T-shirt designs for the cool and funky. Always willing to try out new things, and PY does not believe that the sky is the limit as she will be joining Richard Branson in space soon.
Sunboar craves “Aha!” moments; he rummages, digs and sifts through all things interesting, clever and curious, and stows these tidbits in Gems Sty. He’s now juggling various responsibilities both in Malaysia and Singapore: immersing in life, being happy and also working as an industrial designer in a design consultancy.
