Open Invitation to all Designers ~UPDATE~

04.12.07 | 1 Comment

UPDATE: Please book your slots ASAP, we are running out of space quick!

I hope you could give me a few minutes to let you know what we have planned for IDAsia.org in 2007. But before this I like to reiterate the fact that IDAsia.org still continues to be non-profit focused and for the sole purpose of promoting multi-disciplinary designs talent located in Singapore and Asia and from all nationalities.

1) We are currently in discussion with Design Singapore, and have an in-principle agreement for IDAsia.org to be the official blog media for Singapore Design Festival 2007 (SDF). As part of this partnership, we will be getting the latest news from the festival as well as doing real time press coverage of events, hip parties, behind the scenes action and in-depth interviews with visiting designers.

We are currently looking for people to help cover the event and the many activities. If any of you are interested in joining the Editorial team you are more than welcome, just drop me an email via the contribute link on the sidebar.

2) IDAsia.org will also be taking part in the SDF. We will be hosting an online exhibition that showcases industrial design talent from Asia anad beyond!

  • Signing up is free.
  • There is no theme required at this time
  • The minimum requirement is you have to have a prototype or an appearance model of your design. This is to ensure that the design is resolved.
  • We have 30 slots, and 5 22 have already been taken up.
  • The dateline is end July, but as we have only limited slots please reserve one with us ASAP. All you need to do is send to me or Dotty a picture of your prototype and a paragraph describing your design.

If you don’t have a prototype/model at this time, its ok as long as you are committed to making one by the end July, if this is the case do send us a rendering instead to book your slot. Also not to worry, all rights to the design still belong to the designer, and if you should decide to sell your design on IDAsia.org you will get all the profits. (minus the paypal fees)

We are still working out the exhibition details and how we want to present the work and will get back in touch with all of you when we work out the submission requirements. This is a great opportunity for all as if we become part of the SDF, we will be part of all of DSG’s festival marketing material both locally and overseas.

Please let us know if you are interested by entering your details or questions you may have in the submit link on the sidebar.
