Dotty and I have been doing some site improvement brain storming and here are the initial results.
Our main idea was that not only do we network via the forum; many of us also have their own blogs. So we thought it a great idea that IDAsia.org becomes not only a forum but a Meta Blog for Industrial Designers or Designers in Asia. So if you have a blog, please let us know and we will link it in our blogroll.
Also if your blog is pretty cool, and if you have a feed attached to it we will create a feed of your latest posts, so members can get all the information in one place. The basic criteria is that you have great articles and frequently update your the blog.
One of the great advantages of using a blogging platform is that it automatically has site tracking facilities. This is perfect for network building. So we now know who comes to visit and from where. The system is also so powerful that we also know which friends link to us as well. That being said we encourage you to link to our blog via the “chicklet†logos on the column next to this.
Furthermore we have a lot of great functionality and add-ons attached to this platform. For one is the whole host of plug-in or widgets we can use. We have a few cool ones already installed.
1) There is a chat widget.
2) A blogroll linking listing widget (for linking back)
3) A feed widget, as you already know from reading above.
